Jekku ry is working to make the downtown area of Jyväskylä a more attractive place. JES offers concrete opportunities for self-development, finding your own story, getting to know new people and making contacts with the business world. The Jyväskylä Youth Chamber of Commerce is a networking and learning organisation for young entrepreneurs, managers and experts under 40 years of age, whose members develop their working life skills and have a positive impact on society. In the Junior Chamber of Commerce, it is possible to develop skills, networks and effectiveness in line with your own interests. Activities include training, projects and events.
Jyväskylä Startup Factory prepares successful companies from business ideas and creates opportunities for entrepreneurship. The most important task of the factory is to prepare individuals, teams and startups to make their dreams come true. The Startup Factory offers support to people who have an idea and a desire to become entrepreneurs, i.e. idea owners and entrepreneurs in Jyväskylä and to those at Jyväskylä's educational institutions.
Kasvu Open helps Finnish companies to grow. Every year, Kasvu Open implements several sparring programmes, which are free of charge for companies. The application period, duration, theme and sparring partners of the programmes vary from one programme to another. The programmes help to accelerate the research, development and innovation (RDI) activities of companies and expand their networks.
Central Finland Entrepreneurs includes entrepreneurs, managers and influencers from all sectors. Entrepreneurs ensure that entrepreneurship is taken into account in decision-making. They also provide advice and support for the different stages of business operations. In Central Finland, there are also local associations in Jyväskylä, Jyvässeutu and Korpilahti. Local associations are local entrepreneurial communities operating in municipalities and cities. Peer support, networks and advocacy are at the heart of their operations. There are approximately 3,500 local association members in Central Finland.
The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Central Finland (Central Finland ELY Centre) promotes regional development by taking care of the central government’s executive and development tasks in the regions. The tasks are divided into three areas: livelihoods, labour and skills; transport and infrastructure; and the environment and natural resources. The tasks of the ELY Centre also include advisory, financing and development services for companies.
The Central Finland Chamber of Commerce is a business organisation that promotes the success and growth of the region and companies. The task of the Chamber of Commerce is to promote the operating environment of companies and take responsibility for developing the region’s competitiveness. The network consists of companies and public entities of different sizes from different sectors. The Chamber of Commerce offers a wide range of business services and acts as a spokesperson for companies in Central Finland in influencing social industrial policy.
The Employment and Economic Development Services of Central Finland (TE Services) provide services for the early stages of a business (e.g. start-up funding, setting up a company). In addition to this, the Miitti Central Finland service offers companies a tailored and targeted recruitment service. With the help of the service, you can easily find suitable employees for your company, make your company and industry known and/or map the availability of employees in the area free of charge. We are responsible for the practical arrangements.
Keski-Suomen Yritysidea is a consulting service that provides information, guidance and sparring for those planning to start a business. K-S Yritysidea provides support in evaluating business ideas, developing entrepreneurial skills and identifying personal strengths. The service is free of charge for all residents of Jyväskylä, Hankasalmi, Joutsa, Laukaa, Petäjävesi, Toivakka and Uurainen.
Mothers in Business (MiB) is a network for career-oriented mothers that offers a variety of opportunities for networking, peer support and developing working life skills. The association promotes equality in working life and family friendliness. The Local Section of Central Finland plans and implements operations in Jyväskylä and in the whole of Central Finland. It is run by an active group of 15 volunteers.
TIVIA Central Finland is a community of professionals working in information and communications technology and interested in ICT and digitalisation in Central Finland, which promotes the networking and skills of Central Finnish members and acts as an impartial link between people, communities and companies studying and working in the field and those that are interested in the field.
Unifund Jyväskylä Ltd, an investment company founded by the University of Jyväskylä, invests in early-stage companies whose business operations are based on the utilisation of intellectual property rights or research results created at the University of Jyväskylä.
Business Mentors Finland is a nationwide network of experienced entrepreneurs, business leaders and business experts. Business Mentors Finland offer their expertise and experience free of charge to solve the business challenges of entrepreneur-led micro and small enterprises operating in Finland. Working with a business mentor is open, but strictly confidential. Business mentors can be applied for by companies in any industry, provided they have been operating for at least one financial year. The mentoring assistance is free of charge to the entrepreneur. The mentors work with approximately 100 entrepreneurs in Central Finland every year. In Central Finland, there are more than 50 business mentors.
TAT’s Business Village is a Finnish education entity that has been awarded as the world’s best educational innovation, offering sixth- and ninth-graders positive experiences of working life, the economy and society. The aim of the business village is to develop the financial competence of young Finnish people. Yrityskylä offers companies, associations and communities an inspiring way to implement social responsibility and create a positive employer image.
The 4H of Jyvässeutu offers children and young people high-quality 4H clubs, youth club activities, group activities, camps, working life courses and employment opportunities in Jyväskylä. The association employs more than 100 young people annually through its work services, 4H entrepreneurship and summer employment.
